Along with many different community groups the centre hosts a coffee shop, along with a charity shop that raises funds for local community needs and projects.

We offer space to hire, and community groups and activities including coffee mornings, art, exercise and a community choir. We also run baby and toddler groups and a homework club.

Fair Shares Gloucester

Fair Shares is a local charity and community organisation that promotes the idea of being a good neighbour. We encourage people to get involved in their community, share their skills, and help each other. When you are part of the time bank, you give your time by helping with something that you’re good at, and in return you can get someone to give their time to help you. So, for example you might do a bit of gardening for someone and in return someone else might help you take that old TV to the tip. You do as much or as little as you want, helping out in ways that you are able to and most importantly with things that you enjoy doing.

Traditional time banking uses this idea to encourage members of their neighbourhood to help each other, an hour at a time – give an hour and get an hour back. Over the past 24 years our participants have taken this simple idea and ran with it. Together we have started all sorts of different groups and activities, based on the interests of the people who take part. These activities provide opportunities for people to meet up with others to learn new skills, socialise, make new friends and most of all have fun.

MHCG Gardening Group

Our Community Gardening Group has been going for nearly two years now and has turned a once neglected area into a thriving community garden, with herbs, peas, lettuces, strawberries and tomatoes all grown last year, as well as lots of wider planting and weeding around the estate.

We’ve built a few big raised beds and done a lot of prep work for this year. We’ve also planted a 100m native hedge alongside the road to increase local wildlife & reduce pollution with the support of our local councils and our next key step is finding someone to support & guide us with larger scale vegetable growing.

Once a month from March to November we have community action days on a Saturday, from 10am to 1pm followed by a free pot luck two course lunch.

Access: We exist to support & improve our Community. Initially set up & run by neighbours for neighbours, membership is limited by geography, but we accept & embrace wonderful volunteers from all over the Stroud area, who each bring something special to add to our community spaces.

Geographic Area: Middle of the Hill - which includes parts of Bisley Old Road & Summer Street, & all of Nouncells Cross & Middle Hill in Stroud.

Opening Days: Weekly on Friday. Once a month on a Saturday
Opening Times: Fri 10:00 - 12:00, Sat 10:00 - 13:00

Project Rules:
